Occasionally I do hear of a young adult or sometimes a mature neutered BSH ( often a silver tabby/silver spotty cat or an older kitten ) needing to be rehomed. Breeders may sometimes need to make a responsible decision to rehome a cat when it is not happy living with their other cats. Or perhaps a youngster we have ' run on ' has not reached the very high standard required to further our breeding progress and so help to improve the breed. Sometimes a queen is just not a very good mother and the breeder has then decided to keep a daughter instead and to neuter and retire mum to a very loving pet home.
Working couples with a lot of love and a super responsible home to offer may often prefer to have a quieter sensible affectionate adult cat needing less attention than a highly demanding lively youngster. Older retired couples may also prefer an older cat to love and spoil, being able to provide a wonderful loving home but would not be able to justify the price of a kitten. I have been very fortunate in finding the most wonderful homes for any neutered pusscats which I have needed to rehome over the last few years, and it is a very worthwhile thing for anyone to offer a loving forever home to such a pusscat. All my rehome cats are very friendly, sociable, and well balanced, and have integrated readily into their sympathetic loving new homes
I am however, selective and extremely careful where I home any adult neutered cat, I make sure the new home and new owners are completely compatible as sadly I have heard from other breeders and am well aware that some unlucky pusscats have fallen into very unsuitable hands.
